"Then there's her voice... warming the cockles, putting a smile on your
face. Exceptional" - Time Out
BBC Radio 2's Johnnie Walker and Bob Harris are real fans.
She's opened for Jools Holland, Paolo Nutini, Paul Buchanan, Seth Lakeman and the legendary Bill Wyman and currently a film is in the making based
entirely on her brand new album 'Compass'!
She's here promoting her brand new album, 'Compass' (currently available before her national release, through Bicycle Records), which was made last
year with Mercury nominated producer Colin Elliot (famous for his work on the Richard Hawley albums) in Sheffield's much loved 'Yellow Arch' studios.
The album features a full string orchestra, (borrowed from a session they were playing with the marvellous Tony Christie) the Grimethorpe Colliery Brass Band (who performed in the film 'Brassed Off'), a gospel choir (made up of Bristol and Bath's finest songwriters and musicians), a very special rhythm track, (featuring everything from a rustling bin to the cellists impression of the sound of a dolphin), and beautiful classical and quirky string arrangements from her resident band Robin Davies, Bethany Porter and Feargus Heatherington.
The album has already received Radio 2 play on the Bob Harris Show and writer Julian Fisher is creating a screen play/film based on the album, which is intended for production early next year. Jane is touring the album across the UK, and more details on this can be found on her website www.janetaylor.co.uk
