Jamie Thomas had his musical epiphany in Astoria, Queens, where the music of Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, The Rolling Stones and others inspired him to play and sing music as well as write songs. He honed his skills as a performer playing New York clubs in a band before striking out on his own, making his bones as a solo act in Greenwich Village. He later headed south, spending time in Nashville before landing in Austin, where he has made his mark on the music community. His performances mix his own steeped-in-the-tradition originals with his reinterpretations of other numbers from the great real American music songbook.
