Did you know JAMAICA's producers are from Daft Punk & Justice? Wow. We're happy to announce our next RealMusic Event with a whole new flavor... electronic indie bands followed by a bad ass lineup of dubstep! Check it out....
About JAMAICA:
Paris-based duo JAMAICA have already conjured up the tracks that will be pulsing out of our 8-track player and shining its lights on our disco balls. Mix equal parts, hooky guitar riffs, spine-rumbling bass grooves, sprinkle in highly touted producers, Xavier De Rosnay of Justice and Daft Punk sound engineer Peter Franco and you’re on your way. Top it off with a “rawk” guitar solo and you’ll have us melting like butter.
Pop-rocker band JAMAICA, a duo of Antoine Hilaire and Flo Lyonnet, was formerly known as Poney Poney. Together they made two rock EPs and gained attention from the respected staples in French discography, including Xavier de Rosnay of Justice and Peter Franco from Daft Punk. The two megafamous DJs agreed to join the duo as their producers, and then the name was changed to JAMAICA.
They sound like a grungier version of Phoenix, with upbeat, guitar-led melodies and a thick bassline. Their music videos have been marvelously tongue-in-cheek since the days of Poney Poney, when they had intertitles describing the chords and entire structure of the song “Cross the Fader” in real time. The group has even received support & recognition from world-famous U2! These are stars on the rise.
