- Walk the floors where Madonna got her start and Billy Idol wrote “White Wedding”
- Hang out with up-and-comers OnPoint over a few beers at their personal studio
- Hear some songs and even join in a jam session with the band
The Music Building is an oasis of emerging talent. Since opening in 1979, it has sparked the careers of Madonna, The Strokes, Billy Idol and Interpol, who penned many of their early hits in their personalized practice rooms. Still home to Richard Lloyd, Atomic Tom and an exceptional community of up-and-comers, experience first-hand the raw energy that The Music Building has been cultivating for the past 33 years.
While not usually open to the public, you’ll step past the steel doors and go up the freight elevator to enter the studio of OnPoint — an energetic alternative/metal trio that channels a uniquely industrial sound with the help of an intense drum machine. Olga, Dylan and Matt will play a few songs between talking to you about their career, what life is like at The Music Building, and — if you think you’ve got the chops — they’re down for you to cameo in a jam session.
