Neil Simon's comedy/drama 'Jake's Women' is about a novelist who fantasies his way into personal problems. Novelist Jake acts out conversations with the women in his life much as he might do with the conversations he writes. And, lo and behold, the women start showing up and playing their parts. But not exactly the way Jake would have them do. His wife, his sister, his analyst, his late, first wife and his daughter (at two different points in her life) all visit Jake. All their dialogue is coming from Jake, but it is not necessarily what he wants to hear.
