Jaimeo Brown's Transcendence November 17, 2010

Jaimeo Brown's 'Transcendence' is an acoustic jazz music rooted in African American spirituals flavored with East Indian classical and enhanced with electronic textures whose inspiration comes largely from the Gee's Bend, an Alabama community of African Americans famous for their rich heritage of distinctive quilting and traditional gospel music. The evening will feature JD Allen on tenor sax and sound visionary, Chris Sholar on guitar and electronics. Percussionist, composer, clinician and producer Jaimeo Brown (pronounced jah-mayo) is emerging as one of the pre-eminent new drummers on the World jazz and creative music scene.
