The George Balanchine Trust granted the rights to present 'The Prodigal Son' to the Grand Rapids Ballet Company after watching videos of the Company and deeming the Company technically and professionally qualified to present Balanchine's work. George Balanchine's 'Prodigal Son,' choreographed in 1929, is perhaps his best known story ballet and a stunning drama exposing the virtues of sin and redemption in a powerful performance.
