Sir Anthony J. Leggett is a Nobel Laurate in Physics and Professor at University of Illionis

Title & and abstract of the talk:

Why can't time run backwards?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We all feel that we can remeber the past and affect the future, not
vice-versa. So there is a very clear "arrow" or direction of time built into our interpretations of our everyday experience. Yet the fundamental microscopic laws of physics , can be classical or quantum-mechanical, look exactly the same if the direction of time is reversed. So what is the origin of the "arrow" of time? This one of the deepest questions in physics.
Profssor Leggett is widely recognized as a world leader in the theory
of low temperature physics. He was awarded the 2003 Nobel Prize in Physics for pioneering contributions to the theory of superconductors and superfluids. His recent research interests are in topological quantum computations, conceptual issues in the foundations of quantum mechanics, cuprate superconductivity and super fluidity in highly degenerate atomic gasses.
