The Tivoli Theatre will be hosting its 6th annual showing of “It’s A Wonderful Life” December 5th and 6th with all proceeds benefiting Sharing Connections Furniture Bank, a non-profit organization based in Downers Grove. Last year this event was so popular that the show sold out!
The Sharing Connections’ Board of Trustees recently honored Shirley Johnson, owner of the Tivoli Theatre, with a plaque recognizing the over $25,000 in funds raised in the last 5 years by this benefit. Leanne McGrath, founder and life trustee of Sharing Connections Furniture Bank, said “We are honored and blessed by the support given to us by Shirley Johnson and everyone at the Tivoli Theatre. This is a fun and inexpensive way for local residents to benefit families in need during the holidays.”
Sharing Connections Furniture Bank is a 501 (c) 3 organization that provides furniture and household items for families in need, such as cribs, beds and major furniture items, to make a home for those living at or below poverty level. Their goal is to encourage self efficiency for clients offering them dignity and hope during difficult circumstances.
The benefit showing of “It’s a Wonderful Life” will be held December 5th and 6th at 1:30 p.m. Ticket donations are $5.00 and can be purchased at the Tivoli box office one hour prior to the show time.
