The Istituto’s Tuesday night series features films that are based on novels by great Italian authors. All dvd screenings are in Italian with English subtitles.
Tuesday, May 10 at 6:30 pm Quiet Chaos by Antonello Grimaldi (2008, 105 min.)
After Sandro Veronesi’s presentation of his novel “Quiet Chaos” on May 2, the Istituto presents this film starring Nanni Moretti and Valeria Golino about a man struggling to cope with grief.
Tuesday, May 17 at 6:30 pm The Solitude of Prime Numbers by Saverio Costanzo (2010, 118 min.)
After Paolo Giordano’s presentation of his novel by the same name on April 7, the Istituto presents this powerful coming-of-age tale starring Isabella Rossellini.
Tuesday, May 24 at 6:30 pm I’m Not Scared by Gabriele Salvatores (2003, 108 min.)
Based on the novel by Niccolò Ammaniti, this film is about a boy in Southern Italy who stumbles upon the victim of a high profile kidnapping.
Tuesday, May 31 at 6:30 pm Romanzo Criminale by Michele Placido (2005, 152 min.)
Based on the novel by Giancarlo De Cataldo, this film is about three lifelong friends who take control of organized crime in Rome.
