Italian Connection Rally May 24, 2008

"... The IC is in the spirit the open road endurance race the Mille Miglia. At 11.00 am on May 23rd 2008 a landmark event will commence on Sydney's Norton Street in Leichhardt, finishing on Victoria’s Lygon St, Carlton May 25th.

The street will be decorated with a broad cross section of Italian motoring excellence, from the latest Ferrari through to classic Fiats, Ducatis, Alfa Romeos and more, combining to provide a visual spectacular, all lining up for the start of the inaugural Italian Connection Rally. ~ http://www.italianconnectionrally.com.au/media.php

Piazza Italia, Lygon Street, Carlton 7.30 am:
Preparation underway for a days of fun and entertainment . This is the first day of the Melbourne Italian Festival and the Rally’s arrival is the first major event of the Festa Carlton Football Club

Carlton football Club 3.00 pm:
Rally cars and crew begin arriving at Carlton football Club Vespa brings a squadron of scooters and riders in readiness for the special arrival ceremony

4.0 Dignitaries arrive at the Club

4.15 Dignitaries take a seat in lead vehicles The formation of Scooters leads out the rally field and takes The parade onto Lygon Street and down to arrive at the Piazza Italia As they arrive they will see a full concert is underway in the Piazza in their honour

7.0 After getting changed crews settle down for a well earned beer just before they move to attend the Italian Connection Rally Victory Dinner where they will not only enjoy great food and wine but some will be awarded prizes and trophies won over the last three days.
