It Ain't Me February 7, 2009

Ann Marie Productions continues it's inaugural season with "It Aint Me", written by Claire Rice and directed by Gabrielle Gomez. "It Ain't Me" is a new play about a woman finding her way out of profound grief through misadventures in blind dates, pornographic fantasies, coast to coast bootie calls and group therapy.

"It Ain't Me" follows Lena (played by AMP company member Megan O'Patry) who is having trouble finding a way to move on after the suicide of her husband (played by Brian Quinn from Impact Theatre's Tallgrass Gothic). His choice to end his life has her re-evaluating her own choices and thinking about the one who got away (played by Christopher Kelly from No Nude Men's The Monk). Haunted by her husband's voice, Lena fantasizes about the way her life could have or should have been, even as her friends try to pull her out of her stupor and into reality. On a whim she flies across the country to find the man of her fantasy, hoping he will make her forget the man who was the love of her life.

"It Ain't Me" stars Megan O'Patry, Christopher Kelly, Brian Quinn, Aileen Clark, Kevin Seaman, and Matt Smith.

Ann Marie Productions was put together by Gabrielle Gomez and Claire Rice with the purpose of producing original work by new playwrights, fostering young emerging directors, and bridging the gap between the college theatrical experience and the professional world for artists in all fields of theatre. It's first show, That Horrible In Between Place, written by Gabrielle Gomez and directed by Claire Rice, premiered in November 2008. After It Ain't Me, AMP will present The Land of Infants by Megan O'Patry about two Irish grave robbers working for the mob and suffering from an existential crisis. AMP will open the Fall 2009 season with company member Aileen Clark's hilarious and touching one woman show about growing up in South America and San Francisco.
