Among the shady palms, visitors can explore the nature village, visit the eco-friendly vendors and admire the arts & crafts. They can take part in a water-barrel class or help the build-a-boat team or join a guided nature walk. The expanded nature village will feature “guests” from Lowry Park Zoo and Clearwater Marine Aquarium as well as interactive exhibits, nature tables and the historic honeymoon cottage.
Children will find much to entertain them in their special activities area where there will be games, crafts, puppets, shell painting – and even a climbing wall and bungee jump for “kids of all ages”.
After being tempted by the food vendors offering seafood, wood-fired pizza, desserts and much more, visitors can take a seat near the big stage, relax with a glass of wine or beer and enjoy continuous live entertainment. Artists include Mark Mann Salutes Jimmy Buffet; the Royal Hawaii Dancers; Ron and the Classics and many more. Winners of the prize draw for the Trek bike, kayak and night stays at three luxury hotels will be announced on the Sunday.
Be sure to check out the white sandy beach and spectacular Nature Center while you are on the island.
Entry to the event is free with paid park admission.
Island EarthDays, now in its 4th year, is organized by Friends of the Island Parks, Inc., the non-profit community group which supports Honeymoon and Caladesi Island State Parks with volunteer assistance and fund raising.
