Dutch public architecture is greatly influenced by the Chief Government Architect and has contributed to the development of a specifically Dutch architectural identity. The Chief Government Architect is responsible for the urban positioning, architectonic quality, and monumental placement of all government projects. The Office of Chief Government Architect has a broad-based role in providing national advice to the Dutch Government on architecture, visual arts, cultural heritage, spatial planning, landscape design, and infrastructure.

The Public Lecture will start at 4:00pm and invited guests include:

The event is part of the City of Toronto’s Festival of Architecture and Design and a celebration of the Toronto Economic Development Corporation’s twentieth anniversary, and the bicentennial of the Office of the Dutch Chief Government Architect. This event is generously hosted by the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Toronto.
