From Flavorpill:
Believe it or not, there's a slightly less glamorous side to Irving Penn's work. When he hasn't been out photographing fashion models, he's spent his time traveling to places like Peru, Africa, and New Guinea. He's ventured to these remote locations over the course of several decades to capture the locals in all their splendor. The result is shown here in a collection of photographs of aboriginal families and their tribal costumes.
The exhibit does more than uncover the similarities between us and them ? it alters your notion of what it means to be "civilized" in the first place.
