Irma Thomas, known as the "Soul Queen of New Orleans," is one of the Crescent City's most beloved and iconic entertainers. She has been a popular headliner at clubs and festivals for nearly five decades. For more than 20 years she operated her own New Orleans club, the Lion's Den, which closed in the aftermath of hurricane katrina. In 2007 she earned a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album for her album 'After the Rain,' and was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame.
