Ireland, Wild & Free: The David Munnelly Band October 1, 2009

The David Munnelly Band, considered by many fans to be the hottest Irish band in the world today, will appear in concert on October 1, 2009 at the Cumberland County Playhouse. The 8:00 pm concert, IRELAND, WILD AND FREE!, is sponsored by Progressive Savings Bank/The Rains Agency.

The band, led by button accordion virtuoso David Munnelly, hails from the “wild and free” west coast of the Emerald Isle, and has exploded onto the international Irish music stage with peerless playing, irrepressible enthusiasm, and unique style. Their style of playing has been called a living link between two centuries of Rural Irish culture and the Golden Age of Irish American music of the 1920’s and 1930’s.

The group has released three acclaimed albums in Europe, Japan and North America. Their performances have earned the Traditional Band of the Year by the Irish American News and Concert of the Year, 2006 and 2007 by LiveIreland.com.
