iO Theater (improvOlympics) — the birthplace of long-form improvisation and thelaunching pad for many of our country’s greatest comedians—presents unique, intelligent,hilarious improvisational comedy. iO alumni include Mike Myers, Tina Fey, Chris Farley, Vince Vaughn, and many more. In The Improvised Musical, the iO cast takes an audience suggestion for a theme and spins it into a brilliant Broadway-style musical with fully improvised plot, music, and lyrics. The incredibly talented cast and equally impressive pianist explode into a flurry of song, dance and comedy that defies both expectation and belief. Witness the opening AND closing night of a once-in-a-lifetime Broadway-style musical!

The participants will learn to create a collaborative environment and experience the value in listening to and helping others’ ideas expand in order for the group to reach a common improvisational goal. (2 ½ – 3 hrs.)
