Investigating Historic Millstones Along the Cuyahoga and Other Streams of the Western Reserve
Dr. Joe Hannibal, Curator of Invertebrate Paleontology
Wednesday, May 25, 2011, 7 pm
Dr. Hannibal will chronicle the multidisciplinary investigation of historic millstones in the Western Reserve. Find out how the Mineralogy and Invertebrate Paleontology departments have collaborated in locating these millstones, figuring out when they were used, and determining what kind of rock they were made from, ranging from local bedrock and glacial material to stone imported all the way from France. This talk is part of the Summer of History 2011, a program involving museums throughout northeastern Ohio.
