On Sunday, June 19, from 2-5 p.m. join the Houston Arboretum for a highly informative session on invasive plants in the Houston area. As gardening season is at its peak, learn how native plants are eco-friendly, drought resistant and how they fits beautifully in your garden. Invasive plants by definition are a species that occurs in an area, region, ecosystem or habitat in which it did not originate and causes negative economic and environmental impact on the landscape and to human health.
After the informative session, join Conservation Director Joe Blanton, on a walk around the Arboretum’s grounds to show you six invasive species that should be avoided. For more information on this special class and registration visit http://www.houstonarboretum.org/invasiveplants.asp. Cost is $35 for Arboretum members, $45 for non-members.
