People in politics have a tendency to spend their time attacking the opposing views. The immediate reaction to this, of course, is one of defensiveness, and rarely are we successful in convincing anyone of anything.
About a year ago I participated in an educational program called the Landmark Forum, whose methodology is grounded in taking responsibility, giving up our disempowering conversations, and above all, not making others wrong for their thoughts or their actions. At the most basic level, this kind of lifestyle leads to more success in our relationships and our jobs and careers, but on a larger scale it s how Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, and Mahatma Gandhi all managed to move mountains without ever insulting anybody.
Participation in the Landmark Forum course could take our political conversations to the next level, and could make a huge difference in how we operate going forward. So for that reason, I am hosting an Introduction to the Landmark Forum on Thursday, February 16th, from 7-10 pm at the Badnarik Campaign Headquarters.
Because of the nature of this introduction, I would highly encourage everyone to attend, even if they don't plan on participating in the course - the introduction is not somebody standing up in front of a room talking about something, but rather an interactive conversation where we actually take a look at something that's going on in our lives right now and how we can regain power where it may be lacking right now. Because of this an event for Libertarians, the conversation will be geared towards politics, although the course itself applies to all areas of life. If you're a candidate, this evening could make a huge difference in how you run your campaign, regardless of whether or not you register into the course.
