GNU Octave (an open-source alternative to MATLAB) is a high-level programming language with extensive capabilities for data manipulation and visualization. Learn how to write computer programs using Octave and learn about statements, variables, functions, control-flow structures and fundamental programming concepts, as well as how to work with matrices and visualizing big data sets.
This class is designed for individuals with strong intermediate computer skills. It is suggested that students prepare by having basic command line knowledge or attending the Feb. 8 class, Introduction to Linux And The Command Line.
