Introduction to Geology February 27, 2011

Participants will learn the basics of geology, including rock and mineral identification, geologic time, fossils, and landforms of the United States. Program includes slide show, a first-hand examination of Potomac Overlook's excellent rock, mineral and fossil collection, and a short walk to look for fossils. Presented by Martin Ogle, Chief naturalist, Northern Virginia Regional park Authority.
