This two-day workshop will be an introduction to the entry-level positions available in a standard film production office, specifically catering to those who have no prior knowledge of the workings of the film industry. Details of the job of the office PA and the duties of other jobs available in unionized film will be covered, including the standard business model film productions adopt, everything an office production assistant should know about business etiquette, standard production paperwork, and the details of day to day operations on the job. Students will learn what is expected in terms of their work kit, their knowledge of industry terms and their professional attitude. The workshop will conclude with details of union and guild entry requirements and how to go about obtaining work.
The course is also suited to those operating as service contractors or vendors to the film industry. Learn the lingo and get to know about the inner-workings of a production in order to serve film clients more effectively.
