Pina Bausch, Reinhild Hoffmann, Susanne Linke and Johann Kresnik

Pina Bausch, born in Solingen in 1940, led dance out of its old forms and during her tenure as the head of the Wuppertal Dance Theatre coined a new term - dance-theatre.
Reinhild Hoffmann and Susanne Linke both underwent the same dance training at the same time - and yet they have gone their separate artistic ways.
Johann Kresnik developed a political and socially critical theatre of dance which, with its combative style and drive, occupies a very special place in the German theatre of dance.
