Wedded in traditional Latin American roots and played on more than 30 wind, string and percussion instruments, Inti-Illimani's compositions are a treasure for the human spirit. For well over 30 years, Inti-Illimani (the name translate as "Sun God") has held a beacon for Chilean music, both the traditional folk styles and the more contemporary nueva cancion. As one of the most famous artists in South America and outspoken critics of the dictatorship in Chile, they were forced into exile for 15 years. The band has performed around the world and as part of the Amnesty International Tours alongside Peter Gabriel, Bruce Springsteen, Pete Seeger and Sting and many others.
