This year bluegrass legend Curly Seckler celebrates his 91st birthday and his 75th anniversary in music. Renowned for his tenor singing and his solid rhythm playing on the mandolin, Seckler has performed with many of the top first-generation bands in bluegrass, including about twelve years with Flatt & Scruggs' Foggy Mountain Boys, six years with Lester Flatt's Nashville Grass, and fifteen years fronting the Nashville Grass following Flatt's passing. Seckler is a member of the IBMA Hall of Fame, and in October he was inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame. In this program, Seckler will discuss his career with program host Kyle Cantrell, illustrated with archival photos and video. He will also perform with special guests.
