The Orpheum Theatre in Foxboro announces that Boston legend Davey the Clown will perform as part of its Winter Vacation series on Thursday, December 30th.
David Holzman, the creator of Davey the Clown, began his acting, juggling and unicycling career in the 1980's. While attending the prestigious Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theater, in 1985 & '86, David created the star of his one-man show: the hapless Davey the Clown.
Davey, a clown of international acclaim, has appeared at the Kid's Festival in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2007 and 2008. He has also appeared at the Tulip Festival at Huis Ten Bosch, in Nagasaki, Japan; the Happy Liuzhou International Clown Festival, in Liuzhou, China; the Kim Tom Clown Festival, in Shanghai, China, and the Festival fr Straenkultur in Nordhorn, Germany. Davey has also performed in Cameroon, on the African continent.
In addition to his international appearances, he has been seen at the San Francisco New Vaudeville Festival, the South Shore and Cape Cod Melody Tents, The Museum of Our National Heritage, Faneuil Hall Marketplace, and more. He has entertained at corporate events for such companies as Putman Investments, Gillette, and Children's Hospital, and many private birthday and holiday events.
Davey the Clown's performance, part of the Orpheum Theatre's Winter Vacation Series, starts at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 30th. Other features include: Magic and Beyond with Illusionist David Garrity on December 27th; Creature Teachers on December 28th; and The Boston Bubble Guy Show on December 29th.
