Via Romen North America’s premier Nuevo Russian-Romany (Gypsy) ensemble enchant audiences with fiery music and dances, drawn from a vast repertoire originating in Russia and Eastern Europe and influenced by Roman, Jewish, Latin and Jazz music.
Artistic director of the Via Romen ensemble, dancer, vocalist, and virtuoso of the Russian seven-string guitar, Vadim Kolpakov, and Arkadiy Gips, a premier violinist, were part of Madonns’s “Sticky&Sweet” 2008-09 world tour. They’ve entertained the presidents of Russia, Finland and other European countries, performing throughout Europe, North and South America at venues such as Wembley Stadium in London, Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Madison Square Garden in NYC, and Moscow's Kremlin. Via Romen has delighted audiences across North America with their vast repertoire of traditional and modern songs and dances, and has performed alongside Gogol Bordello and the Dresden Dolls.
