An international festival showcasing sacred art forms from India and around the world.
The festival will showcase performers like
Leela Samson (Dance - Bharatnatyam)
Chirgilchin (Music - Tuvan Throat Singing)
Madhup Mudgal (Music - Bhakti Raas)
Al-Kindi Ensemble (Dance - Whirling Dervishes)
....and many more. Monks from the Likir Monastery in Ladakh will be creating a Sand Mandala. The festival will also feature eminent speakers from Yale University, The Shruti Foundation, Hong Kong University and Banaras Hindu University among others, who will talk on subjects dealing with sacred beliefs and rituals and their incorporation into sounds, music, art and dance.
There will also be a film festival hosted by Jamia Millia Islamia which will explore the theme of the sacred in documentary films on Sufism, Kabir, Umm Kulthum and more.
In addition to this, workshops on exploring Dance Therapy, African Djembe Drumming, Middle Eastern Musical Instruments have also been organized.
Finally, after the festival is seemingly over, authentic live performances at places of worship will unfold in an evening of Sufi music at the Nizamuddin Dargah, an all night Kuddiyattam performance at the Ayyappa Temple, R.K Puram, Gospel Music at St. James' Church, Kashmiri Gate and many more.
