Bring blankets or low lawn chairs to celebrate Union City's 50th anniversary with an afternoon of free music at the Kennedy Park amphitheater. The Gathering in the Park offers live performances ranging from hot Latin and cool blues bands to Polynesian and Indian dancers.
Emceed by popular comedian Mark Pitta, the program will include:

11:30 a.m. - noon Polynesian dance by Mehrani O'Tehani
12:15 - 12:45 p.m. Demonstration by Choi's Martial Arts
1 - 1:30 p.m. Bhangra and Gidha Indian dance
2 - 3:30 p.m. Blues by Big Cat Tolefree and the Hipnotics
3:45 - 4:15 p.m. Hiyas Philippine folk dance
4:45 - 6:15 p.m. Latin/salsa music by Lava Latin Rhythms
The event also features Taste of the World - delicious and diverse cuisines from across the globe; a health fair providing free medical screenings and information; a Kid's Carnival complete with bounce house and 30 midway games; an international marketplace and information booths.
