International Conference on Tourism and Sports Management May 25, 2011

Dear Sir/Madam,

The Faculty of Applied Economics and Rural Development in cooperation with many other organizations has announced the organization of the “INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON TOURISM AND SPORTS MANAGEMENT” held in Debrecen (Böszörményi út 138) on 26-27th May, 2011.

The primary objective of the “inTSMconf” is to enhance national and international partnerships and the exchange of experience, to initiate joint actions between research communities and the business sphere in tourism, recreation and sport management. The Conference encourages activities in tourism development, the national and international influences of sports on tourism and highlights the three pillars of science – experience, science and innovation activities. Further conference objectives include the presentation of the latest trends, research findings, practical applications and best practices.

The quality of life is a priority in welfare societies and developing countries also take efforts to reach this level. New trends have emerged in recreation, as the coherence of leisure time management, sports and healthy lifestyle lends itself for various interpretations. Research in competitive and top sports has unveiled new challenges. The economical operation of sport establishments, sports venues; sports and environmental protection, the touristic role of sports may become active factors in the development of quality lifestyle.

Institutions of higher education, research workshops have always assumed an active part in knowledge dissemination, and since they are determining players in given regions, many roots tie them to businesses and market participants in their areas. These relations have confirmed that business and research – education assist and improve each other interactively; these co-operations create new and novel solutions, which work their way into economic processes.

The organizers consider it an honor if they can publish your latest research findings, can welcome national and international lecturers and researchers, thus integrating their research results and transferring their multiplicative impacts into tourism and sports management field.
