There is an increasing trend to introduce micro and small scale enterprises to create livelihood opportunities in poor and marginalized
communities. However, most of these enterprises have difficulty
sustaining themselves because of the failure to act on various market
forces that affect production and product marketing. Integrating a
value chain perspective for micro and small scale enterprises to identify and analyze the needs of the market and efficiently produce and compete with other players is necessary. The course provides: an overview of concepts and principles in value chain; development of enterprises and business development services; market assessment; and value chain analysis. Participants will also learn how to develop a monitoring and evaluation system; identify materials and avenues for knowledge management; recommend areas for capacity development; and design and manage enterprises that align business and social responsibilities.

Course fee: USD1500
Double occupancy room and board: USD850 per person for the
duration of the course.*
Venue: Yen Center, IIRR, Philippines
