Dr. Peggy McCardle will answer general questions about receiving funding from the National Institutes of Health with a particular emphasis on funding areas of primary interest to the National Institute for Child health and Human Development (NICHD).
On May 19, 2011, researchers from Universities across the region will have an opportunity to talk to Peggy McCardle, Ph.D., MPH, who is Chief, Child Development & Behavior Branch at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute for Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) of the National Institutes of Health. The Institute for Human Adjustment is hosting a Town Hall Meeting from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the West Conference room on the fourth floor at Rackham. During the Town Hall Meeting, Dr. McCardle will answer general questions that are related to seeking funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), strategies for early stage and senior investigators proposing new or ongoing research projects, areas of scientific priority within behavioral and social sciences, particularly those areas supported by the Child Development and Behavior Branch—learning and learning disabilities (in both reading and math), cognitive and language development, social and emotional development, child maltreatment and exposure to violence, health promotion and risk prevention, and human-animal interaction.
