Inspiration II Basket Workshop November 6, 2010

This elegant, round, four-inch basket is woven in the Nantucket style on a mold, using a hardwood base, black ash spokes and weavers, along with elm bark weavers. The weavers chase each other in a twill pattern to create a pronounced diagonal line as well as a subtle shadow line between the spokes. A one-piece rim completes the basket. Preparation of materials will be discussed as well as how to work out the numbers for chasing twills. The finished basket measures 4 inches in diameter by 4 inches deep.
