Pirate, slave, sailor. All experienced life, death, terror, and tragedy on journeys across the ocean. Award-winning historian Marcus Rediker will examine the relationship between slave ships, pirate ships, and the people on board. Rediker intersects the lives and stories of individuals to create a personal view of this tumultuous and violent time. Refreshments will be served after the lecture during the book sale and signing of Rediker's books, Villains of All Nations and The Slave Ship.
