• Increased operational flexibility
• Improved research administration
• Reduced cost of campus systems through a leveraged resource model
This year’s conference theme, “From Theory to Practice,” acknowledges that the Kuali community is no longer a small group of early innovators but has grown to include a much broader membership sharing proven and practical results.
Whether you’re a seasoned Kuali veteran, a newcomer, or merely open-source curious, Kuali Days is an efficient and rewarding way to get the information you need. This year’s lineup boasts exceptional range and depth, with something Kuali-related for just about everyone.

Among the sessions that we are presenting:
"The Business Case for Kuali Rice"
“Doing more with less” has been in our lexicon for several decades. With the economy in recession, this term is more prescient that ever before. Higher Education is impacted in a very real way. Declining enrollments, endowments and increasing costs have forced Universities to look at all avenues to manage Institutional budgets.
In this decade, Open Source software has evolved from a “nice idea” to a commonly accepted practice with Sakai and Moodle leading the way. Kuali now offers a viable alternative to commercial software and Kuali Rice has matured to the point where it can be given serious consideration. This session will discuss techniques and approaches to develop a business case for using Kuali Rice at an institution.
"Kuali Enterprise Workflow in Practice"
Kuali Rice as a separate solution to augment legacy applications is growing. A main component of Rice is Kuali Enterprise Workflow. Several institutions are using Kuali Enterprise Workflow (KEW) is interesting and innovative ways. The purpose of this session will be to discuss current, standalone, deployments of KEW and the integration points with institutional systems.
Topic Points:
• Installation
• Configuration
• Maintenance
• Integration Issues
In addition to a rich variety of session topics, Kuali Days 2010 will give participants a chance to meet, learn from, and collaborate with people from across the Kuali spectrum—people from member institutions and businesses, Kuali developers, adopters, users, and implementation staff, and, of course, people who have just recently joined, or are about to join, the growing Kuali community.
We hope to see you in San Diego this November for what promises to be our most exciting and informative Kuali Days yet.
