The Junior Committee of Inner-City Scholarship Fund (ICSF) will host its fall Harvest Moon benefit on Thursday, October 4th, at The Maritime Hotel, 88 Ninth Avenue (between 16th and 17th Streets), Manhattan, from 8:00 to 11:00 PM. ICSF is the city’s leading non-profit organization dedicated to providing tuition assistance for students from low-income families.
Guests will enjoy a festive evening of top shelf cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, dancing and door prizes.
All of the night’s proceeds will benefit the ICSF Junior Committee’s commitment to providing inner-city boys and girls with enriching academic experiences. The Junior Committee, made up of young professionals under the age of forty, complements the financial support of ICSF through hands-on activities in ICSF schools. The committee’s programs include monthly trips to New York City cultural institutions, tutoring, sports leagues, and annual holiday parties.
Inner-City Scholarship Fund provides support to nearly 8,000 students (93% minority and 36% non-Catholic) in 93 inner-city Catholic schools in Manhattan, the Bronx and Staten Island. Although two-thirds of its students live at or below the federal poverty level, an astounding 96% of graduates from ICSF-supported schools pursue college at some of the finest universities in the nation.
Individual ticket prices start at $50. For ticket or sponsorship information please visit: http://www.icsf-nyc.org/programs_jc_fundraiser_2012_fall.html.
