Indian Classical Music: A Pan-Indian Perspective November 10, 2007

Although the classical music of India has a unified theoretical base, there are a number of regional varieties found throughout South Asia. The two major traditions of music in the region are the music of South India, or Karnatek music and the music of North India, or Hindustani music. In the two halves of this performance, Seattle-based artists Raman Iyer and Arigit Mahalanabis will present recitals of each form.
