Independence Day at Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest July 4, 2008

Celebrate America's birthday at the retreat home of the author of the Declaration of Independence. The day is highlighted with an evocative reading of the Declaration at 3 p.m. from the back portico of Jefferson's home. Picnics welcome!

Free. Admission charge for house tours, available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
