As part of the Big Notes Music Series, Riverside Theatre is presenting In Harmony, a collection of vocal music from different regions of the world, inspired by National Harmony Day.

In Harmony is a choral celebration that promotes social and cultural understanding and will see singers, choirs and audiences from Sydney sharing a diverse range of international vocal music. Following a weekend of choral workshops, participants will perform along with featured choirs including Joubert Singers, French Ensemble Choir and the Sudanese Women’s Choir.

In Harmony will include the World Premiere of a new work commissioned by Ars Musica Australis for work All is One and One is All by world renowned Australian composer Matthew Orlovich.

Artistic Director Rachelle Elliott has a strong background in music and conducting and is currently the Musical Director for Nordic Voices and Joubert Singers. After graduating from her undergraduate primary studies in choral conducting focussing on voice and flute, Rachelle went on to undertake conducting master classes with several leading international conductors including John Curro from Queensland Youth Orchestra and Professor Rodney Eichenberger of the USA. Rachelle has previously held positions as Conductor for Rembrandt Male Choir, Choral tutor for Inner West Homeschoolers Choir, Musical Director for Inner West Chamber Choir and Director of Music for the Australian Youth Choir. She enjoys facilitating massed choir collaborations and is a passionate advocate for music making.

“I am so honoured to have been able to be apart of such a significant event”, said Ms Elliott. “In Harmony will allow for cultural barriers to be broken down and for people to connect through music. It really will be a truly wonderful experience”.

In Harmony will play one show only at Riverside Theatre on Sunday 22nd March at 3pm.
