Hailing from Virginia and having studied at Virginia Commonwealth University, Billy Brockmann, a Pasadena-based young professional musician and teacher will perform an eclectic mix of classical, jazz, Mandarin-pop and Latin music on upright bass, electric bass and acoustic guitar. The program will not only be fun, but informative, presenting interesting facts about music history and notable composers. There will also be a rhythm and singing test to see who's got music skills.
Billy has worked with many notable artists such as the Jonas Brothers and appeared on the Jonas Brother's Disney Show as a bass player. He has taught at Macy Grey's School of Music and at various public schools as a substitute teacher. Besides tudoring students locally on piano, guitar, upright bass and electric bass, Billy records and keeps a full performing schedule playing in various bands. When not involved with music, Billy enjoys hanging out with family and friends, hiking, reading and a good game of ping-pong.
This program is free and will take place in the Barth Community Room at Crowell.
