The Impressionists and particularly the Post Impressionists changed the way we thought about the visual arts. Monet, Degas, Renoir and others led the way and were eventually overtaken by van Gogh, Gauguin, Toulouse Lautrec, Seurat and others. There was no going back. Picasso, for example, believed he was greatly indebted to these painters for breaking new ground. We will discuss the lives and works of the painters involved. Each of these sessions will be fully illustrated. Details of this event may be subject to change. Please visit http://www.cce.usyd.edu.au/course/impi for more information or to register.
