ArtHatch presents a momentous new show “IMMORTALIZED: Rods and Customs of Distinction”, a custom and hot rod car show that will feature some of the most prominent car artists to date including Tom Fritz, The Pizz, Sara Ray, Chris Froggert, Steve Waldron, Kurt Lightfoot & Will Gibson, Victor Roman, and Sharif Carter and the infamous Robert Williams who along with the featured artists will be attending and jurying the event. The event will draw custom car owners from around the country including many who have invested over $500,000 into their cars. The Opening Reception will be held on Friday, September 9th, 2011 from 7-11pm highlighted with pin up girls passing out goodies, STONE beer, catered food, live music by Geno and the Lone Gunmen, and awards. Cost will be $25 ($20 advance tickets) for the event with proceeds to benefit ArtHatch (501(c)(3) organization) and Cruisin Grand of Escondido, CA. Awards will be given out by Hot Rod Artist and founder of Juxtapoz magazine, Robert Williams, the night of September 9th at 9pm for his choices of Best in Show, Best Car Culture, Best Car, and Best Artwork. Pioneering the “Lowbrow” alternative art movement in California, Robert Williams, is a household name within the underground art community. Know as the “artist’s artist”, Williams joined the studio of Ed “Big Daddy” Roth, and eventually linked up to the infamous San Francisco art group Zap Comix in the late 1960s. With his landmark publication, JUXTAPOZ magazine and popular manifesto, Robert Williams influence on alternative art is immeasurable.

ArtHatch is a 7000 square foot building which houses the front gallery: exhibitions changing monthly, "The Alley," featuring new and previous works from over 75 artists, the teen room featuring artwork by 6 local teens, 14 artist studios, ranging in size from 150 to 800 square feet, featuring the work of over 28 local artists, and "The Lounge", containing 8 walls featuring local artists. The front gallery features contemporary and cutting edge artwork.

A variety of art books, prints, and collectors dolls are now available for purchase.
