Join the Globalization Task Force of Interfaith Council for Peace and Justice as we discuss how globalization is connected to migration to the United States. We will begin by viewing an
excellent documentary called "Farmingtown," which shows how a small Long Island community reacts to the sudden appearance of large numbers of
Mexican day laborers on some of its street corners and in local housing.
The documentary will serve as a jumping off point for a discussion with U-M professor and Co-Director of the Institute of Labor and Industrial Relations Labor and Global Change Program, Ian Robinson, on the immigration issue and the emerging Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti Workers' Center Initative.
A simple dinner will be served.
