Ken Vandermark spearheads this new succession of concerts and guest DJs. 'Immediate Sound' kicks off with a double-bill featuring saxophonist/pianist Ari Brown with former Sun Ra drummer Robert Barry, followed by Ken Vandermark with Norwegian import Ingebrigt Haaker Flaten, and local heavyweight Nate McBride, both on bass and behind drums, Michael Reed. In the DJ booth for this inaugural show will be host Ken Vandermark, spinning "Tough Tenor Sounds" and '60s soul between sets.
