Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk - Narrated by Robert Redford and musical score by the Dave Matthews Band, this film is a lively white-water adventure down the Colorado River and tour through the breathtaking curves and contours of the Grand Canyon made by the river over the last several million years. Expedition leaders - world-renowned river advocate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and author/anthropologist/explorer Wade Davis - aren't just there for the thrill of the ride, though. They're making the journey to raise awareness of global water issues.
Alaska: Spirit of the Wild - There’s a lot more to Alaska than the winter wonderland most people know. This Charlton Heston-narrated, Academy Award™-nominated IMAX® film puts you in the middle of Alaskan action, including fishing with a brown bear, hunting with the wolves, soaring with a bald eagle, belly-flopping with a whale and racing across the tundra with a herd of caribou.
The 26-week shoot over the course of several years allowed film crews to capture underwater antics from playful lions, the mesmerizing shimmer of the Northern Lights, and a bird’s-eye view of the mountains from a dizzying height. The opening scene features a computer re-creation of the world during the Ice Age using satellite imagery, 15 computers and 42 hours just to generate a single frame. When all was said and done, the opening sequence had taken more than a year to complete!
