YOU MAY HAVE SEEN HIM ON BET DOING HIS FAMED KNOCK-KNOCK SPOKEN WORD POETRY...He is a poet, an accomplished actor, a writer, a singer and a composer.
FROM NEW YORK CITY, Images Theatre Company is featuring Daniel Beaty in his spectacular One-Man Show Through the Night for three performances only at the Guild Theater.
Beaty is an award winning actor, singer, writer, composer and poet. In 2007, he won the Obie Award for Excellence in an Off-Broadway show and the 2007 Audelco Award for a solo performance. He has performed at the White House and the Kennedy Center.
In "Through the Night," Beaty uses a unique blend of music, poetry, comedy, and drama to move seamlessly through six Black male characters, aged 10 through 60 who are facing issues of addiction, incarceration, disease and disenfranchisement. Telling their stories, he cries, talks, sings, laughs, recites spoken word poetry and uses words to trigger lighting fast character changes, while weaving a powerful story about the African-American male through the lens of his characters.
