Opera Tampa concludes its 06-07 season with the heart-stopping drama and powerful passion of Giuseppe Verdi's masterwork Il Trovatore (The Troubadour). This opera favorite is a thrill ride filled with crazed gypsies, desperate lovers and dueling suitors (who are also long-lost brothers!) singing the immortal tunes, such as the instantly recognizable "Anvil Chorus." Anton Coppola conducts the international cast and the Opera Tampa Chorus and Orchestra. Sung in Italian with English translations projected above the stage.
The cast includes: Sondra Kelly as Azugena; Stefanos Koroneos as Ruiz; Guido Le Brón as Count De Luna; Kelly Cae Hogan as Leonora; Stephan Kirchgraber as Ferrando Gustafo; Gustavo López Manzitti as Manrico; and Linda Mulé Switzer as Inez.
