IFCA 5th Culinary Congress - No Boundaries One Vision

The Indian Federation of Culinary Associations, IFCA, is organizing the much anticipated 5th edition of the IFCA National Culinary Conference in Namma Bengaluru at Vivanta by Taj, Yeshwantpur from 22nd – 24th March 2012. IFCA since its inception has been consistently striving promoting culinary knowledge and propagating various kinds of foods and bringing to the forefront obscure culinary styles and practices. IFCA is an ever-expanding culinary network which forges a tight culinary bond within the culinary industry as a whole. From education and training to competitions and challenges, IFCA is looking at setting new milestones for the highly qualified, multi-skilled professional body.
IFCA’s 5th National Culinary Congress is aimed at bringing together more than 600 culinary experts under one roof where they can share professional, innovative and creative ideas, techniques, expertise and industry related knowledge that can help them raise the bar for the entire industry. The three day event will feature a sensational experience for the palate, with Indian cuisine from across the country with a strong Karnataka flavour on the lunch menu for Day 1, while Day 2 will showcase world cuisine even as Day 3 closes on a spectacular note with a “Chef and Child” Charity Dinner, a programme which will take place under the title of “Food Of Offering”. Planning is underway for this special event and chefs in the city are abuzz with activity charts and menu plans to put up a spectacular showcase of workshops, sessions, discussions, contests and awards.
“IFCA enables the guests to access industry knowledge on culinary art and provides various philosophies on varied gastronomic delights from across the world via national and international experts in the profession. The Indian chapter has pioneered the formal Chef’s Associations in the country and we aim to maintain the tradition and take the association forward”, says Chef Manjit Singh Gill President of IFCA.
“Namma Bengaluru chefs are excited and well set for a meeting of this nature as the Congress gives a great platform for Chefs to share the knowledge and network. The programme will also feature life skills for Chefs including Human Resources, Marketing, Entrepreneurial skills et all apart from latest culinary trends, new cooking techniques, role of educators and a lot more that deal with all the other aspects of chefs role in leading a team. We have received an immense response from chefs across the country and hope to see more than 600 chefs at the event” added Chef Vijaya Bhaskaran,Vice President of SICA.
The event will be graced by the President of The World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS)-Chef Gissur Gudmundsen, who will be sharing his expertise on world cuisine. World renowned Master Chef Ferdinand Metz will also be showcasing his skills and sharing his learning’s along with renowned Media personality and celebrity journalist Mr. Vir Sanghvi who will moderate a panel discussion on future trends in hospitality. The event will also be graced by famous personalities like Mr. Harish Bijoor, Vikram Cotah, Hari Rao, Cedric M Kenney to name a few, who will share their industry expertise in tune with the hospitality industry in India.
